Recap: Tillamook Cheesemakers vs. The Dalles Riverhawks
The Tillamook Cheesemakers came tearing into Friday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against The Dalles by a score of 59-50. Given Tillamook's advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while The Dalles is ranked 150th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Tillamook's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Adrian Vogel, who scored 12 points along with nine steals and five assists. Vogel is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Vivian Vogel was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six steals and five rebounds.
Tillamook's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points per game. As for The Dalles, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tillamook and Banks will face off at 5:00 p.m. on December 20th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The Dalles won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Corbett at 12:00 p.m. on December 16th. Corbett will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
