Preview: West Catholic Falcons vs. Oakridge Eagles

The West Catholic Falcons will stay at home for another week and welcome the Oakridge Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. West Catholic knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matchups -- so hopefully Oakridge likes a good challenge.

West Catholic can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They claimed a resounding 70-0 win over Comstock Park at home. Given West Catholic's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 14th, while Comstock Park is ranked 285th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Charlie DeBruyn had a dynamite game for West Catholic, rushing for 172 yards and four touchdowns on only ten carries. Mike Murphy was another key contributor, rushing for 46 yards and two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Oakridge entered their tilt with Belding with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Oakridge managed a 13-7 victory over Belding on Friday.

West Catholic's win was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 10-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.6 points per game. As for Oakridge, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

West Catholic strolled past Oakridge in their previous matchup back in October of 2015 by a score of 28-14. Will West Catholic repeat their success, or does Oakridge have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
