Basketball Game Preview: Signal Mountain Eagles vs. Red Bank Lions

The Signal Mountain Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Red Bank Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Signal Mountain has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last five games.

On Tuesday, Signal Mountain made easy work of Sand Rock and carried off a 71-51 win. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Red Bank fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Walker Valley on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Mustangs 72-67. It was the first time this season that the Lions let down their fans at home.

Signal Mountain pushed their record up to 11-9 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.9 points per game. As for Red Bank, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 15-5.

Signal Mountain was dealt a bruising 75-47 defeat at the hands of Red Bank in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Signal Mountain was down 46-17.
