Zanesville skates past Utica with ease

The Zanesville Blue Devils gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Utica 81-40 at home. This was payback for Zanesville, who suffered a 66-52 loss the last time these two teams met.
Zanesville was led to victory by Mikey Johnson and Drew Doyle. Johnson scored 21 points, while Doyle scored 23 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Rashaud Hampton was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 5 assists.
Zanesville's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Utica, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Zanesville will head out on the road to face off against Watkins Memorial at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Utica, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Heath at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Heath focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Monday.
