Baseball Game Preview: Elizabeth Minutemen vs. Perth Amboy Panthers

The Elizabeth Minutemen are taking a road trip to square off against the Perth Amboy Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Elizabeth's pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so Perth Amboy's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Elizabeth is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Johnson just ended the team's nine-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Crusaders by a score of 7-6.

Meanwhile, Perth Amboy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against Middlesex, falling 10-1.

Elizabeth's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 12-3. As for Perth Amboy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.

Elizabeth came out on top in a nail-biter against Perth Amboy in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 6-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Minutemen since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
