Westport came tearing into Thursday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 47-19 win over the Avon Panthers. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 33-6.

Avon lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Uwa Idada, who posted seven points along with 12 boards and six blocks. Idada continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Aniyah Pierre-Louis was another key player, putting up six points in addition to seven rebounds and three blocks.

Westport's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Avon, their loss dropped their record down to 1-13.
