Softball Preview: Herscher Tigers vs. Peotone Blue Devils

Herscher has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Peotone Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Herscher is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.

On Monday, Herscher was able to grind out a solid victory over Peotone, taking the game 6-2.

Anistin Hackley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up nine Ks. Those nine strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Mary Kanak was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Herscher's win bumped their record up to 15-16. As for Peotone, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.
