Football Game Preview: Wolfe City Wolves vs. Tioga Bulldogs + How To Watch

The Wolfe City Wolves will head out to challenge the Tioga Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wolfe City knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Tioga likes a good challenge.

On Thursday, Wolfe City was fully in charge, breezing past Whitewright 62-23. The result was nothing new for the Wolves, who have now won four matchups by 35 points or more so far this season.

Hd Davis was his usual excellent self, rushing for 220 yards and four TDs on only 15 carries, while also picking up 51 receiving yards. His rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 19th straight game with at least 110 rushing yards dating back to last season. Noah Adams was another key player, gaining 272 total yards and two touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Wolfe City was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 334 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 167 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Tioga started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Alvord. They fell 27-20 to Alvord on Thursday. The contest was a 20-20 toss-up at halftime, but Tioga couldn't quite close it out.

Wolfe City pushed their record up to 5-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points over those games. As for Tioga, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Wolfe City suffered a grim 60-36 defeat to Tioga when the teams last played back in November of 2024. Can the Wolves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
