Basketball Recap: Savannah Tobias' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mingus over Prescott

If Mingus was feeling good fresh off their 49-28 takedown of Mohave two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mingus Marauders took a 53-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Prescott Badgers. The Marauders haven't had much luck with the Badgers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Mingus lost on Tuesday despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Savannah Tobias, who posted ten points along with five boards and five steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 51 times she's played. Brianka Villalobos was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Prescott got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Bella Abt out in front who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 13 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Addie Prisciandaro, who on her way to 22 points.

Mingus' record now sits at 19-6. As for Prescott, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-6.

Mingus didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-56 defeat against Estrella Foothills on the 13th. As for Prescott, they have also already played their next game, an 84-15 victory against Mohave on the 13th.
