The Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Bears will take on the La Joya Coyotes at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
La Joya will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Pharr-San Juan-Alamo extended their winning streak to 11 on Thursday. The Bears put the hurt on Edinburg North with a sharp 22-1 win. The Bears' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Jacob Delgadillo made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Pharr-San Juan-Alamo got a massive performance out of James Cansino, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those two stolen bases gave Cansino a new career-high. TJ Ayala also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Pharr-San Juan-Alamo kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 21 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive games.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for La Joya, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Economedes an 11-0 shutout on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Coyotes considering their one-run performance the matchup before.
La Joya also got a great performance from Hunter Morales as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched.
At the plate, Ivan Marron was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Samuel De Leon, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double.
Pharr-San Juan-Alamo pushed their record up to 23-2-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for La Joya, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season.
Both Pharr-San Juan-Alamo and La Joya just can't seem to miss. The Bears have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9 hits per game. However, it's not like La Joya struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Pharr-San Juan-Alamo came out on top in a nail-biter against La Joya in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 2-0. Do the Bears have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Coyotes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
