Baseball Recap: La Sierra Comes Up Short

La Sierra was the 9-5 winner over Ramona when they last played one another last Monday, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles fell 10-5 to the Rams on Wednesday.

Ethan Jacquez was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. La Sierra is 2-1 when Jacquez posts two or more runs, but 2-10 otherwise. Cristian Velazquez also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

La Sierra has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Ramona, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-8-1 record this season.

While La Sierra had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
