King/Drew had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.6 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Fremont Pathfinders a 5-0 shutout. That's more bragging rights for the Golden Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Danilo Meade made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.

Meade wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Elijah Lugo, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave Lugo a new career-high.

King/Drew's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Fremont, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-4.

King/Drew wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, an 8-4 defeat against Port of Los Angeles on the 10th. As for Fremont, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-5 loss against Harbor Teacher on the 10th.
