Preview: Fowler Grizzlies vs. Jefferson Saints
The Fowler Grizzlies will take on the Jefferson Saints in a holiday battle at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday at. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Fowler came up short against Las Animas and fell 45-36. Fowler has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Fowler's defeat came about despite a quality game from Andrea Maestas, who scored 20 points along with four steals. Maestas is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Meanwhile, Jefferson was beaten by Jefferson Academy 51-23 two weeks ago.
Fowler's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-2. As for Jefferson, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Everything came up roses for Fowler against Jefferson in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 as the squad secured a 55-18 victory. With Fowler ahead 34-9 at the half, the game was all but over already.
