Volleyball Recap: Illiana Christian Gets the Win

Illiana Christian's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Kankakee Valley Kougars. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Kougars recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Illiana Christian had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-28, 25-11, 25-19, 25-15.

Joshua Bultema paced Illiana Christian's offense, picking up 15 kills. Bultema got some help from Jacob Rozendal and his 17 assists. Bultema was also solid from the service line: he led the team with ten aces.

Illiana Christian's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Kankakee Valley, they dropped their record down to 1-11 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

Coincidentally, Illiana Christian and Kankakee Valley will both be playing Hammond Bishop Noll the next time they take the court. The Vikings will head out to face the Warriors at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Kougars will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
