Basketball Game Preview: Mt. Rainier Rams vs. Stadium Tigers

The Mt. Rainier Rams will venture away from home to challenge the Stadium Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mt. Rainier is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.8 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Mt. Rainier lost to Kentwood at home by a 67-53 margin. The Rams have struggled against the Conquerors recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Mt. Rainier's loss came about despite a quality game from Jayden Dolce, who posted 17 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Falcon Tross was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Mt. Rainier smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Stadium came up short against Auburn on Tuesday and fell 63-54. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while the Trojans are ranked seventh).

This is the second loss in a row for Stadium and nudges their season record down to 9-8. As for Mt. Rainier, their record is now 10-8.

Mt. Rainier opened the new year with a less-than-successful 62-50 defeat to Stadium. Can Mt. Rainier avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
