Baseball Recap: Monte Alto Takes a Loss

Monte Alto was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 11-10 heartbreaker at the hands of the Progreso Red Ants. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Blue Devil of the 11-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2022.

Monte Alto's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Progreso, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monte Alto will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Falfurrias at 7:00 p.m. on March 25th. Progreso also won't see the field for a while: their next game is against Raymondville at 7:30 p.m. on March 25th.
