Soccer Game Preview: Princess Anne vs. Great Bridge

The Princess Anne Cavaliers will venture away from home to challenge the Great Bridge Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Great Bridge took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Princess Anne, who comes in off a win.

If Great Bridge heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Princess Anne took over last week. The Cavaliers beat Western Branch by a goal, winning 3-2. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Princess Anne's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 24th, while Western Branch are ranked 87th).

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Great Bridge duked it out with Warhill on Thursday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Lions by a score of 2-1.

Great Bridge's goal came courtesy of River Hardrict, who's now up to five this season.

The win made it two in a row for Princess Anne and bumps their season record up to 9-2-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored six goals over those two matches. As for Great Bridge, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-3-3.
