Softball Recap: Bishop Kenny Takes a Loss

Bishop Kenny blew Beachside out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Wednesday Beachside got their revenge. The Crusaders fell just short of the Barracudas by a score of 14-12. The Crusaders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Barracudas apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Ava Farnham led a balanced group of hitters, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. Emma Serra was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

This is the second loss in a row for Bishop Kenny and nudges their season record down to 7-13. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Beachside, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop Kenny will welcome Trinity Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Beachside, they will be playing at home against St. Joseph Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
