Basketball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Northfield's Third in Last Four Outings

If Denver South wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Northfield, they should've done a better job of containing LaPorsha Allen. The Northfield Nighthawks simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Denver South Ravens 75-31 thanks in part to Allen, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 16 boards. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 8.7 rebounds per game.

Another player making a difference was Madison Bethel, who posted 12 points along with six assists and six steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in assists.

Denver South's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Abriella Garcia, who scored 11 points and three steals, and Alex Gehring, who had seven points.

Northfield is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for Denver South, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-7.
