Basketball Game Preview: Callaway Chargers vs. Murrah Mustangs + Official Tickets

The Callaway Chargers will head out to face off against the Murrah Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Callaway has four straight wins, Murrah has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Callaway is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 63-41 margin over Provine two weeks ago. The Chargers pushed the score to 51-28 by the end of the third, a deficit the Rams cut but never quite recovered from.

Layla Ba went supernova, dropping a double-double with 20 points and 11 boards. Those 20 points gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Shelbie Walker, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 11 rebounds.

Callaway smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 23 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Murrah played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Canton 75-23. The contest marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Murrah's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Callaway, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.

Everything came up roses for Callaway against Murrah in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 58-16 win. In that matchup, the Chargers amassed a halftime lead of 38-10, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
