Baseball Recap: East Ridge's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Apopka, East Ridge was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past the Cornerstone Charter Academy Ducks 6-5. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Knights as it put an end to their seven-game losing streak.

East Ridge's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Lucas Rincon, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4. That's the most runs Rincon has posted since back in February. Another was Ruperto Martinez, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

East Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Cornerstone Charter Academy, their record now sits at 2-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Ridge will take on Davenport at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Cornerstone Charter Academy, they will face off against Legacy Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Cornerstone Charter Academy's pitchers better be ready for this one: Legacy Charter has averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
