Football Recap: Red Bank Beats Macon County for Their Sixth Straight Victory + How To Watch

It's playoff time, and Red Bank had no trouble coming through when it counted. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 31-28 victory over the Macon County Tigers on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Lions sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Jacolbi Salley was his usual excellent self, rushing for 240 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.4 yards per carry. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 104.5 rushing yards per game.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Red Bank was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 272 rushing yards. They are 6-2 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Red Bank didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Shawn Carter and Nate Shropshire Jr.

Macon County's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Xavier Bentley, who picked up 40 receiving yards and one score, and also punched in one TD on the ground. Brennan Flowers handled things on the ground, rushing for 88 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Red Bank's record now sits at 7-4. As for Macon County, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 7-4.
