Volleyball Game Preview: St. Marys Blue Devils vs. Sherman Tide

After both having extra time off, the St. Marys Blue Devils and the Sherman Tide will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

St. Marys is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Clay-Battelle.

The final score came out to 25-17, 27-25, 9-25, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Sherman waltzed into their contest on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Generals 3-0.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Sherman took every set by at least 14 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-11, 25-8.

Sherman's win came from a few key players St. Marys will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Emma Russell, who had three digs and three aces. She is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 15 or more in each of the last 13 games she's played. Audrina Smith was another key player, getting nine digs.

St. Marys' win bumped their record up to 25-11-1. As for Sherman, their victory bumped their record up to 24-8-1.
