Basketball Recap: Aptos Snags Eighth Victory in Last Nine Games

Aptos won the last time they faced Half Moon Bay and things went their way on Saturday too. The Aptos Mariners snuck past the Half Moon Bay Cougars with a 52-47 victory. The win was all the more spectacular given the Mariners' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 261st, while the Cougars are ranked 41st).

Aptos has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Half Moon Bay, with the loss, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Aptos will head out to face off against Carmel at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Aptos is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. As for Half Moon Bay, they are taking a road trip to take on Menlo School at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Menlo School's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games.
