Baseball Recap: Palisades Has No Trouble Against Westchester

Palisades won the last time they faced Westchester and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Dolphins were the clear victors by an 18-3 margin over the Comets. The result was nothing new for the Dolphins, who have now won 11 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Caleb Gitlin looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Hudson Ramberg, who went 2-for-3 with four runs and two RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack O'Brien, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one double.

Palisades always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Palisades has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Westchester, their loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-17.

Coming up, Palisades will venture away from home to square off against Fairfax at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Westchester does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
