Basketball Recap: Preston Roque's Big Game Can't Quite Lead State Line Christian over Hammond Baptist

After a string of three wins, State Line Christian's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They received a blow as they fell 68-51 to the Hammond Baptist Swordsmen. If the Patriots were looking for revenge after losing 48-38 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Preston Roque, who posted nine points. Jackson Baumker was another key player, putting up eight points.

State Line Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Hammond Baptist, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. State Line Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Faith Baptist at 6:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. State Line Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.4 points per game this season. Hammond Baptist will also get a bit of a break before their next game: they'll face off against HomeSchool Resource Center at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
