Basketball Recap: Spotsylvania Comes Up Short

Spotsylvania was the 62-55 winner over Eastern View when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Spotsylvania Knights took a 40-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eastern View Cyclones on Wednesday. The Knights' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it eight in a row.

Spotsylvania's record now sits at 1-8. As for Eastern View, the win snapped their losing streak at eight games and leaves them with a 2-9 record.

Spotsylvania and Eastern View could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings. Spotsylvania will face off against James Monroe at 6:30 p.m. on Friday down 323 places (360 vs. 37). Similarly, Eastern View (ranked 347th) will meet Courtland (ranked 156th) at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
