Softball Recap: Bosqueville Wins Going Away Against Jonesboro

Bosqueville had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Jonesboro on Tuesday. The Bosqueville Bulldogs put the hurt on the Jonesboro Eagles with a sharp 9-1 win.

Corinne Sheffield spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 13 Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tagen Huffhines, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. She also put up an RBI, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Carli Wright, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Bosqueville's victory bumped their record up to 3-1-1. As for Jonesboro, their loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-1.

Coming up, Bosqueville will be taking part in a tournament against Normangee at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. Bosqueville is facing Normangee at the right time seeing as Normangee is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Jonesboro, they will venture away from home to face off against Graham on Thursday.
