Basketball Recap: Williams Comes Up Short

Williams lost against Pierce back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Yellowjackets took a 57-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bears. The Yellowjackets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Williams lost, don't look at Diego Ambriz. Despite the final result, he posted 21 points. That was a full 41.2% of the Yellowjackets' points, marking the fourth time in a row Ambriz has earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Moises Vargas, who scored 12 points.

Williams' loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Pierce, their win bumped their record up to 4-7.

Williams didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 54-41 defeat against Etna on the 20th. Pierce and Woodland will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
