Soccer Game Preview: Stockbridge vs. Maple Valley

The Stockbridge Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Maple Valley Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Stockbridge has given up an average of 8 goals per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Monday just wasn't the day for Stockbridge's offense. They lost 8-0 to Quincy on Monday. Stockbridge have struggled against Quincy recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Maple Valley faced off against Calhoun Christian on Monday. The Lions came up short against the Cougars, falling 9-1.

Maple Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Stockbridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.

Everything went Stockbridge's way against Maple Valley in their previous meeting back in April, as Stockbridge made off with a 9-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
