Soccer Recap: Deridder Snags 14th Victory in Last 16 Games

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but DeRidder had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Port Allen Pelicans an 8-0 shutout. Considering the Dragons have won 13 contests by more than three goals this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

DeRidder is also on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 102 goals over those 16 matchups. As for Port Allen, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-11-1.

DeRidder has already played their next contest (against St. Louis Catholic), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Port Allen does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
