Softball Game Preview: South Garner Titans vs. Cleveland Rams

South Garner is 0-8 against Cleveland since March of 2019 but things could change on Thursday. The Titans will host the Rams at 4:30 p.m. South Garner has given up an average of 15.1 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

South Garner is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Southeast Raleigh, falling 20-14. Even if the Titans couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Meanwhile, after a string of 12 wins, Cleveland's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Garner by a score of 2-1. The Rams were red-hot at the plate heading into the game (they scored no less than ten runs in the four contests prior), but the Trojans' pitcher proved too tough.

Cleveland saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddie Murphy, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

South Garner's loss dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Cleveland, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 12-1 and their overall record down to 15-4.
