Soccer Game Preview: Windsor Charter Academy vs. Valley

The Windsor Charter Academy Firebirds will face off against the Valley Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Windsor Charter Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.2 goals per game this season.

Valley better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Windsor Charter Academy's game on Friday is any indication, that's when Windsor Charter Academy really gets things going. The Firebirds never let Nederland get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. It was an even better day for Sam Werner as he scored four goals for his team.

Windsor Charter Academy was without their leading scorer, Antonio Marquez Pinerio, in Friday's match. With Marquez Pinerio sidelined, the Firebirds had to make some changes to the lineup. Miles Smith played for 55 minutes having averaged 30.4 this season and Dustin Sulzen got 47 vs. an average of 24.2.

Meanwhile, Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 5-0 to Frontier Academy. That's two games in a row now that Valley have lost by exactly five goals.

Windsor Charter Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those four matchups. As for Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.

Windsor Charter Academy took their win against Valley in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 7-0 score. Do the Firebirds have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
