Baseball Recap: Horn Lake Takes a Loss

Horn Lake entered their matchup against Hernando on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Horn Lake lost 11-1 to Hernando. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Eagles couldn't push the score so high this time.

Michael Smith made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Horn Lake now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Hernando, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-7-1.

Looking ahead, Horn Lake will face off against Olive Branch at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Hernando, they will challenge South Gibson at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hernando's pitchers better be ready for this one: South Gibson has averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season.
