Basketball Recap: Zion-Benton Comes Up Short

Zion-Benton lost against Lake Forest back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Zion-Benton Zee-Bees lost 56-36 to the Lake Forest Scouts. While losing is never fun, the Zee-Bees can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 349th, while the Scouts are ranked 59th).

Zion-Benton has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for Lake Forest, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-7.

Zion-Benton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 82-53 loss against Warren Township on the 30th. As for Lake Forest, they will face off against Lake Zurich at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lake Forest is facing Lake Zurich at the right time seeing as Lake Zurich is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
