Basketball Recap: Lingle-Fort Laramie Falls Despite Big Games from Jordynn Speckner and Skyla Wunder

Lingle-Fort Laramie and Upton squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Lingle-Fort Laramie had to settle for second. They took a 43-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Upton Bobcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Doggers of the 57-43 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2022.

Despite the loss, Lingle-Fort Laramie had strong showings from Skyla Wunder, who posted 15 points and four steals, and Jordynn Speckner, who earned seven points. Wunder is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 25 games she's played.

Even though they lost, Lingle-Fort Laramie smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 25 consecutive matches.

Lingle-Fort Laramie's defeat dropped their record down to 23-6. As for Upton, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.
