Clearwater skates past Boca Ciega with ease

Recap: Clearwater Tornadoes vs. Boca Ciega Pirates

The Clearwater Tornadoes can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Boca Ciega 81-31 at home. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 41-20.

Clearwater got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Pink Sturdivant out in front who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Quenya Turner, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Jacquavia Ferguson and Maria Ciro certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Ferguson scored eight points along with 11 rebounds and three blocks, while Ciro scored two points along with six rebounds.

Boca Ciega struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Clearwater pulled down 17 offensive rebounds.

Clearwater is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Boca Ciega, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Clearwater will face off against Flagler Palm Coast at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Boca Ciega will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Northeast at 8:00 p.m. on January 11th. Northeast is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
