Baseball Recap: Ashley Extends Winning Streak to Four

Ashley put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the Corinth Holders Pirates by a score of 8-4.

Jackson Lee tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2024.

On the hitting side, Quinn Bentley was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Colin Beddard also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Ashley's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-0. As for Corinth Holders, they moved to 4-1 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Ashley will be playing at home against Topsail at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ashley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.2 runs per game this season. As for Corinth Holders, they will head out on the road to face off against Fuquay - Varina at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Fuquay - Varina 2.8, Corinth Holders 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
