Basketball Recap: Eastlake Takes a Loss

Eastlake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 67-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Issaquah Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while the Eagles are ranked 15th).

Despite the loss, Eastlake still got an impressive performance from Megan Roberts, who posted 22 points. The matchup was Roberts' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maggie Bredeweg, who put up seven points along with six assists and three steals.

Even though they lost, Eastlake smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Eastlake's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Issaquah, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-6.

When Eastlake and Issaquah next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Eastlake will try to stop Lake Washington's four-game winning streak when the meet at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Eastlake is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.9 points per game this season. Similarly, Issaquah will challenge Woodinville and their 16-game winning streak at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
