The Hallettsville Brahmas will take on the El Campo Ricebirds at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
On Tuesday, Hallettsville earned a 5-2 win over Industrial.
Grace Halata spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on three hits and racked up six Ks.
On the hitting side, Caitlynn Halata was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Matula, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
Hallettsville hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive matches.
El Campo came out on top against Bay City on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run second inning. The Ricebirds took their game against the Blackcats 11-7.
Kamryn Mears made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over 5.1 innings pitched. Mears was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Adrienne Rodriguez, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Emma Labay was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one RBI.
El Campo's victory bumped their record up to 19-6-1. As for Hallettsville, their win bumped their record up to 21-4.
Everything went Hallettsville's way against El Campo in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as Hallettsville made off with a 10-0 victory. Do the Brahmas have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Ricebirds turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
