The Carbondale Terriers will venture away from home to square off against the O'Fallon Panthers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Carbondale is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

Carbondale is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest loss since April 11th on Friday. They lost 10-1 to Carterville. The defeat continues a trend for the Terriers in their meetings with the Lions: they've now lost seven in a row.

Meanwhile, O'Fallon came up short against Belleville East on Thursday and fell 10-5.

Bella Schmitt was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Carbondale now has a losing record of 10-11. As for O'Fallon, their loss dropped their record down to 12-8.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Saturday. Carbondale hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like O'Fallon struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.4 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.

Everything went Carbondale's way against O'Fallon when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Carbondale made off with an 18-7 win. Will the Terriers repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
