Baseball Recap: Amboy Gets the Win

Amboy's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They skirted past the Pearl City Wolves 9-8. For the Clippers, this counts as revenge for the 8-7 victory the Wolves walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Caleb Shugars was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Quinn Leffelman, who scored a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Amboy now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Pearl City, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Amboy will challenge Durand/Pecatonica at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Amboy is facing Durand/Pecatonica at the right time seeing as Durand/Pecatonica is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Pearl City, they will take on Polo at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
