The Norwell Knights will square off against the Bellmont Braves at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Norwell is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.

Norwell is headed into Wednesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Monday. They fell 9-4 to Leo.

Reese Frauhiger was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Mia Kurtz, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

Columbia City hit Bellmont with a four-run third inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Braves fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 8-7. The Braves have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Bella Ashley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and four unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Liz Bobay and Emily Bleke stepped up to the plate in a big way. Bobay went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run, while Bleke went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Bauer, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Bellmont's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Norwell, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.

Everything went Norwell's way against Bellmont in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Norwell made off with a 12-4 win. Do the Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Braves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
