Baseball Recap: Elba Comes Up Short

Elba came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 11-1 to the New Brockton Gamecocks. The game marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Dywys Reynolds was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.

Elba's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for New Brockton, they moved to 9-4 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Coincidentally, Elba and New Brockton will both be playing Geneva County the next time they take the field. The Tigers will head out to face the Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Gamecocks will play them later in the day, at 6:30 p.m.
