Volleyball Recap: Mater Academy East Las Vegas Takes a Loss

Mater Academy East Las Vegas was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Desert Oasis Diamondbacks.

Prince Lupac paced Mater Academy East Las Vegas' offense, picking up 14 kills. Lupac got some help from Malcolm Lawrence and his 23 assists. Maximiliano Ortega controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Mater Academy East Las Vegas' defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Desert Oasis, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-11.

Coming up, Mater Academy East Las Vegas will square off against Somerset Academy Losee at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Desert Oasis, they have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Coronado on the 5th.
