Volleyball Recap: Lutheran South Comes Up Short

Lutheran South was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Visitation Academy Vivettes. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since October 5, 2021, but that streak is no more.

Lutheran South was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Visitation Academy work for it, especially in the fourth set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 21-25, 25-22, 26-24.

When it comes to explaining why Lutheran South lost, don't look at Cameron Slinkard. Despite the final result, she had ten digs and three aces. Olivia Kinser was another key player, getting seven digs and three aces.

Lutheran South's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Visitation Academy, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-4-1 record.

Lutheran South and Visitation Academy could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings. The Lancers will square off against Westminster Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (266 vs. 32). Meanwhile, Visitation Academy (ranked 241st) will meet St. Dominic (ranked seventh) at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
