Basketball Recap: Malverne Comes Up Short

If Malverne was riding high fresh off their 63-32 takedown of Lawrence last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Malverne Mules fell 63-52 to the Freeport Red Devils on Monday. The loss was the Mules' first of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Malverne fell to 2-1. As for Freeport, their win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Malverne will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Seaford at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025. Freeport will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against Calhoun at 12:00 p.m. on Monday.
