East Union is 1-6 against Tupelo since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. East Union will welcome Tupelo at 1:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Tupelo will be up against a hot East Union team: the squad just extended their winning streak to six. East Union put the hurt on Hamilton with a sharp 9-3 victory on Friday.

Ben Basil spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Drew Hollimon and Tristian Baldwyn did most of the damage at the plate: Hollimon scored two runs while going 3-for-4, while Baldwyn scored a run while going 1-for-3. What's more, Baldwyn posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in February. Landon Harmon was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Tupelo faced Madison Central in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Tupelo was the clear victor by a 13-5 margin over Madison Central. The win was some much needed relief for the Golden Wave as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Brody Wilson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off nine hits. Wilson was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Landon Swinney, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Tyler Johnson, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.
Tupelo kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.
East Union's victory bumped their record up to 17-3. As for Tupelo, their win bumped their record up to 11-8.
East Union came out on top in a nail-biter against Tupelo in their previous matchup back in April of 2023, sneaking past 6-4. Will East Union repeat their success, or does Tupelo has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
