The Castro Valley Trojans will venture away from home to face off against the Berkeley Yellowjackets at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Castro Valley barely beat Arroyo the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Trojans put the hurt on the Dons with a sharp 16-3 win on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.

Alanys Robertson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over four innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, firing off two home runs, five runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Zaylee Gutierrez was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those doubles marked the first that she hit this season. Another player making a difference was Kailey Armstrong, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run.
Castro Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .475. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last match, Berkeley made sure to put some runs up on the board against Tennyson on Tuesday. The Yellowjackets blew past the Lancers 21-2. The Yellowjackets haven't had any issues with the Lancers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
June Shaller and Olive Lightfoot made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Shaller pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Lightfoot pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, Shaller scored two runs while going 2-for-2, while Lightfoot scored a run while going 1-for-1.
In other pitching news, Addison Davis looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.
Back at the plate, Berkeley let Camil Babij Ross and Rosa Sueaga run wild. Babij Ross scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances, while Sueaga scored three runs while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Camden Bernhard, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in both of her plate appearances.
Castro Valley's record is now 10-3. As for Berkeley, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Castro Valley came up short against Berkeley in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 7-3. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
