Basketball Recap: Pine Tree Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Pine Tree, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They took down the Carthage Bulldogs 57-41 on Tuesday. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 556th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 1294th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Pine Tree is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-12 record this season. As for Carthage, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pine Tree will venture away from home to take on Cumberland Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Pine Tree is facing Cumberland Academy at the right time seeing as Cumberland Academy is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Carthage, they will square off against Henderson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
